"The Baldwin 5405 Pass Doorset is an excellent selection for any interior door which does not require locking. Mine is polished chrome, which was simply not available at any big-box store except through special order and then a lengthy wait. Just in case you're wondering, the same polished chrome finish was also on the included strike plate and lever close-out plate, so the whole set looks great! Baldwin knobs are heavy and therefore they feel very solid in your hand. They're obviously built to last a very long time and the quality of the exterior finish is absolutely superb. I highly recommend this doorset, but be aware the outside round-covers (between knob and door surface) are easy to snap onto their mounting brackets but I expect they'd be somewhat difficult to remove. Just be sure all the internal hardware (bolt-lever slideset and outside round brackets) are set solid and true on the door before mounting the finish covers and knobs, and you'll do just fine."

Superior Quality

"After considering many other brands of door knobs for our beautiful cherry doors, we decided to spend the extra money for these Baldwin sets (passage, privacy, and dummy). The difference in quality is significant. The solid brass construction means they are heavy and feel substantial. You can tell when you grip them that they are not hollow. There were no manufacturing flaws as we have found in other brands. The finish was superior and doesn't have that superficial shine of cheaper lacquer finishes. They include extra set screws and an Allen wrench for installation, plus installation bushings to ensure accurate alignment. The square cornered latch and strike plates required chiseling the radius cutouts on the doors. We decided we would be opening and closing these doors for many years to come, so the extra cost was worth it. We are extremely satisfied with both quality and cost. These door knobs are beautiful. Door hardware comes at the end of the project when budgets are tight. We are so glad we decided not to skimp on these most visible components, but we're glad we got them through Handlesets with their excellent customer service and reasonable prices."

The Best Door Hardware

"I have installed just about every brand of door hardware available. The Baldwin Images series, as well as most Baldwin products, are definitely worth the extra cost. The knobs are solid brass and the mechanism always works smoothly. I have never had to replace a Baldwin knobset. The finish seems to last forever. Do yourself a favor, don't cut corners, install it."
