How do I order keyed alike sets

A. Thank you for your question. The Kwikset 405DNL can be keyed alike to multiple pieces and any other Kwikset lock by selecting the "Keyed Alike" option on the product page when ordering. Simply click "Keyed Alike" for any items you would like to have the same key.

which finish hold up best satin chrome or satin nickel?

A. The Kwikset 405DNL is a very popular leverset. When comparing the Satin Nickel to the Satin Chrome you really do not need to worry about the finish holding up. The only finish that may sometimes fade or show wear is Polished Brass finishes. If you are looking for Polished Brass hardware that will be used outside then you should definitely look for the Lifetime Polished Brass because the finish treatment is handled differently to last through extreme weather and sun. Both the Satin Nickel and Satin Chrome are very durable.

can you key this handset to a door i already have if i send you a key?

A. Thank you for your question. Yes, we can key this handleset you already have so long as the existing handleset is also a Kwikset item. We would need the key code, not the actual key. To obtain the key code, simply take your existing key to a locksmith and they will be able to read the keycode. Once you obtain the keycode, simply enter it into the space provided in the cart.
