Kwikset 740H Signature Series Hancock Keyed Entry Single Cylinder Door Knobset

Elegance meets durability in the traditional Hancock. Its look, as well as its workmanship is designed to last. This single cylinder knob locks/unlocks with a key on the outside and a turn button on the inside.

  • Includes Standard Round Corner Strike Plate Part Number 83796 (Strike Plate is on Door Jamb). For Square Corner Strike Plate See Product: Kwikset 83437. For a T-Strike Plate See: Kwikset 83028.
  • There is an optional kit available for 2-1/4" thick doors, see product ID 81714.
  • Decorative Circular Shaped Knob
  • ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 2 Security

"Our home is only 5yrs old and when one of the door knobs started having problems I thought it would be easy to find a replacement. Not so. None of the hardware stores carries this particular style in our area. So when I found it on line I was a bit aprenhesive. But as it turned out it was a perfect match. It was coded to match our existing keys... once again a perfect match. Installation was easy of course because it was a direct replacement. Excellent service. Couldn't be more pleased."

need a lock that can b rekeyed to a key and a master key

A. Kwikset features a technology called SmartKey on some of their door hardware. This specific product number is not SmartKey, but the SmartKey version is item number 740H-S. SmartKey allows you to re-key your door hardware to whatever you wish so long as the pin is a 5-pin (will not work with a 6-pin).

I need a door knob like this for an interior door 1 3/8" thick.
