Norton was founded in 1880 by Lewis C. Norton. Norton Door Closers

Norton offers adjustable door closers through the entire range of door closer sizes (1-6) in accordance with the ANSI/BHMA standard a156.4. Additionally, Norton offers ADA compliant door closers that comply with the opening force requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and ANSI/BHMA standard A117.1 for interior doors.

One of the most popular pieces is the Norton 1601BF ADA Compliant Utility/Storefront Door Closer. This model comes from the 1600 series and has adjustable springs to fit sizes 1-4. Additionally, it utilizes Nor Glide closer fluid, which helps provide optimum performance and efficiency. The aluminum housing carries a limited lifetime warranty and the unit has a limited ten year warranty against defects.

If you need a door closer that has a Hold-Open Function, then check out the Norton 1601H. This door closer will allow you to prop a door open when needed and is non-handed to be installed on right- or left-hand swing doors. The latch speed control valve will allow you to adjust the door speed from approximately 10 degrees down to the door's fully closed position. For heavy-duty doors, take a look at the Norton 8501 ADA Compliant institutional door closer. This model comes with a full cover and is available in three finishes: aluminum, gold, and statuary bronze. The 8501 comes in five different power sizes (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) and each power size is adjustable up to 50% stronger than the minimum closing force for that size. The model has a limited ten year warranty for defects and the life of the building on the housing.
