New Doorknob This new doorknob looks and works great. Turns smoothly and is very sleek in design. Our old one had gotten in such bad shape that we had to "fight" with it to open and close it or to lock it. So if you can actually enjoy something as mundane as a doorknob, this is it! And the lever style works good if your hands are full or for older folks with arthritis! :-) August 26, 2011

Easy to install Was very easy to install. However, the instructions should be a llittle more clear about the ability to swap the handles front-to-back (in addition to rotating for a left-handle vs right) so the curve (down then up, or up then down) matches your other handles. July 16, 2011

I don't like being locked out of my room Not more than 2 minutes after installing this door knob, I ended up locking myself out of my own room. Good thing I had a credit card to jimmy it open and so now I'm returning it to Home Depot for something without the "special lock you out" feature. June 29, 2011

E-Z-P-Z I wanted to replace all the handlesets on the outside doors so that my mother could open the doors easily. I also had the locks keyed-alike. Installation went smoothly and the polished brass finish made the whole job look professional. It's impossible to get 3 handlesets keyed-alike from a local Home Depot or Loews as quickly as ordering them from Handlesets.com. Shipping was fast. They arrived much sooner than expected. Good lock This is a good quality lever. The only thing I don't like is when it is locked you can open door and go outside, shut the door, and it is locked behind you. I don't know why they make locks like this. If it is locked you should have to unlock it to go outside that way you can't lock yourself out of the house. November 26, 2010

Great protection I installed this lock on the door leading from my garage into my basement several years ago. Last week in going from the basement to the garage I closed the door. At that moment I realized that I had locked the door the night before. No one was home and there was no spare key in the garage. I worked for over one hour to break the lock and it never broke. The glass in the door was special and could not be broken. So I had to wait until someone came home. March 29, 2009

If I order 6 new Schlage door locks and deadbolts keyed alike should I get the securekey?

The SecureKey allows you to re-key a lock in the future, if you do not plan on doing this, you do not need it.

Can I get a 5 inch backset latch for this handle?

The extension part for the a 2 3/8" backset is 41-005. The extension part for the 2 3/4" backset is 43-005.

Can I make this lever work with a 6 pin key

The Schlage F51-ACC is going to have a 5 pin key way. This is not able to be used with a 6 pin key way.

can this be changed to remove the panic proof setting, so i dont accidentally lock myself out?

The Schlage F51-ACC has the panic proof setting - if you want a keyed entry without the panic proof that would be Schlage F51-ACC

Does the F51ACC 716 come in a left handed model?

The Schlage F51-ACC is actually reversible via a set screw on each handle that allows you to reverse them without flipping the downward sweeping lever.

When using the Panic feature, which I asume, hit the handle and out you go, does the door unlock or once closed relock ?

Correct, depress the lever and you can get out, but the door will then be locked from the outside.

Is it possible to disable the panic proof feature on this keyed lockset?

The Schlage F51-ACC cannot have the panic proof mechanism disabled.

Need dead bolt single cylinder in oil rubbed bronze?

The B60 comes in oil rubbed bronze.

Does the securekey that allows re-key come with the Schlage F51-ACC?

The Schlage F51-ACC does not come with the SmartKey lever set.

How do you tell whether you need a LH or RH handle?

To determine the handing of a door, stand on the outside of the room you are going to enter. If the hinges are on the left hand side of the door, you need a left handed handle. If the hinges are on the right hand side, you need a right handed handle.

I need a replacement latch for model F51-ACC. Do you have it available?

The replacement latch for the Schlage F51-ACC is Schlage 16-211.

Is there a matching one sided deadbolt available for the Schlage F51-ACC-619?
