Handleset Functions

Single Cylinder

A Single Cylinder Handleset features a single cylinder SmartKey deadbolt. This is typically used for front or back exterior doors. It is operated with a key from the exterior of the home and a thumb turn from the interior.

Double Cylinder

A Double Cylinder Handleset features a double cylinder SmartKey deadbolt. This is typically used on a front or back exterior door. It is operated with a key from the exterior and the interior of the door. It does not have a thumb turn on the interior side of the door. Double Cylinder Handlesets are recommended when a window is in close proximity to the door. The interior keyway prevents an intruder from accessing your home by breaking the glass and turning the thumb turn to open the door.

Dummy Handlesets

Dummy Handlesets are Inactive Handlesets. They look like a single cylinder handleset, but there is no function to them. Dummy handlesets are generally used on French Doors for the inactive handleset.
