1400 Colonial Series Interconnected Handleset by Weslock

This 1414 Interconnected Handleset by Weslock has many features. An Interconnected Handleset has a one-piece exterior handleset (handle with deadbolt). This can be locked with a key from the exterior and a thumb turn from the interior. The 1414 features a Panic-Proof function which allows the interconnected deadbolt to also be unlocked by turning the interior lever or knob (depending on which you select). This allows you to simply turn your interior piece to open your door without having to unlock the deadbolt and the knob or lever.

Weslock antique brass keyed handle set

"I rate the product okay , There should have included a template for the hole spacing. It took me three times as long to install. I had to do allot of measuring to make sure all the hole where in the correct locations.Other lock companies give you a template to use.Also for the amount you pay, the key way or lot mechanism should have been made of solid brass and not Dicast. It would have been nice if the seller would also hace the service of keying it to match an existing key. I was told that I needed to give them a code. My locksmith stated there is no such thing as a code . He just changes the tumblers to match my key. I did like the all in one dead bolt feature of the handle. I already had a seperate dead bolt. So now I have to and twice the protection of two deadbolts . Over all I rate the item good."

"Almost an exact match to the original handleset when the house was built 20 years ago. It actually looks better than the original. The existing holes matched up perfectly and the installation was shorther than the time spent removing the old one. The shippiing time was super fast! Very impressed with the workmanship of the handleset and the service."

"I purchased this item to replace an original hand set that the former owner had ruined by painting over. It worked out very well in that it matched the existing decor and style of the building, was a near perfect match of the original lock set and was easy to install. I made a very good choice, and it cost me much less than what I would have paid for a similar quality item from any other home improvement center,"

"We were replacing the locks in our front door and the builder had used this model originally; they were 22 years old and had worn over the years. The new version is much nicer than the original, and compared to those available at the "big box" stores of a much higher quality and a very reasonable price."

In the Weslock spec sheet it says the handleset could have a Schlage keyway as an option?...is that true and is it considered an upgrade? Also, in the order, how is finish of the interior handle or knob specified?...I'm assuming all the different options come in the same colors but the images on the website shows what looks like brass on one but other colors on the other choices?

Is there a screw that runs through the door on the smaller bottom piece?

A. Yes, a screw runs through the inside of the door into the bottom part of the handle for the Weslock 1414 1400 Colonial Series Interconnected Handleset.

I'm not quite clear on the handle style, I would like the same as the sample picture shown. Is that how it comes?
