Does this door knob lock?
A. The 600J is what is called a "passage" door knob set. Passage door hardware does have an operating latch, but does not have a lock. They are commonly used on pantry and closet doors. For the same Julienne series, a 640J would be a single cylinder keyed door knob set. This would be used on any door that leads to the exterior of the home where keyed entry is desired. A 610J would be a "privacy" lock and these have locking capabilities from the interior and are commonly used on bedroom and bathroom doors.

Are the screws covered up?
A. The Weslock 600J does indeed cover the screws with the faceplates for their Julienne Collection series.
