Outdoor Lights Defined

Besides the obvious that outdoor lights are meant to illuminate your home's exterior, outdoor lights must meat a UL-listing for either damp or wet. This ensures that the light is meant to withstand the outdoor elements.

Damp - light fixture should be covered by an awning. Not meant to come into direct contact with rain, snow, etc.

Wet - light fixture may be exposed to rain, snow, etc.
