Andover Keyed Entry Panic Proof Door Knob Set Featuring Decorative Rosettes

Schlage has recently launched a product conversion. This keyed door knob set features decorative rosettes that conceal the screws. There is another Andover Keyed Entry Door Knob Set on our site but it features a simple plain rosette and does not conceal the screws (that model number is: F51-AND).

Great deal I searched all over the internet for pricing on this line of door knobs. Panic Proof Keyed Entry Knob "Panic Proof Keyed Entry Knob" .should be a safety standard for all entrance lock sets. In the event of an emergency the door maybe opened from the inside without.without unlocking it first. I ordered 2 sets (keyed alike) in the Satin Nickel finish & they are simply beautiful. Now with my previous two 15 year old sets which I moved to use in the walk in doors in the garages I have four sets keyed alike. What a convenience to have only 1 key to open 4 doors! These sets are very high quality with a great finish. I will definitely buy here again if I ever need lock sets. Great product- good communication- fast shipping- Nice people! December 21, 2009

WHAT IS PANIC PROOF

A. Panic Proof is a feature Schlage offers on a number of single cylinder levers and knobs. This means the door can be opened from the inside while its locked without having to take the additional step of unlocking it. This feature is desired for safety reasons. Say a home were to have a fire or something dangerous inside. Rather than taking the time to unlock, the door will unlock as soon as you turn the knob or lever.

When you open the door without unlocking it from the inside, if you go outside and close the door will it still be locked?

A. No, this door knobset does not have that capability. This Schlage FA51-AND has a Panic Proof turn button on the inside, so whenever you turn the knob, the entire knobset is unlocked. You would have to either use the key to re-lock from the exterior or you would need to use the interior turn-button lock on your way out the door. If you need a knobset that will be fixed in the locking position on the exterior without always having to lock it, then you may want to look at "Storeroom Locks". The exterior knob/lever is always locked and can only be unlocked from the exterior by using a key. The interior knob is always unlocked so you would not even need to use a push-button to open the door, simply turn and the exterior will remain locked.
