"The Schlage B62 (Deadbolt): Keyed Entry Double Cylinder is slightly smaller than the same model from 10 years ago and leaves a small circle exposed around the cylinder. In spite of this aggravation, the new model works much smoother and has a more solid feel to it, and the bolt is longer. The finish is excellent as before, I would have kept the old locks but keys were stolen."

Great Quality Locks

"Ordered three for our home and two for our daughter. Ours were to replace existing locks. Installation was very easy but be sure to not overtighten the long screws they mangle easily. One, at daughter's, was a "new" install. We bought a new 2 1/8" hole saw and 1" drill bit and found the the hole was a bit small and the lock wouldn't seat properly. Had to file it larger on the "in" side . The 1" hole seemed too big. Wish we would have started smaller. We also had to buy a chisel set...it's a must have to make a clean cutout for the insets. The locks are great but the "new" installation took longer than anticipated. Make sure to have the proper tools before starting this project! The price is outstanding compared to the home improvement stores. We bought six locks total and had them all keyed alike with a key code, for free, and they all work perfect! Handlesets.com is great!"

Solid Lock

"Schlage makes great locks, that's already known. The B62 follows in that tradition. The bolt turns smooth like butter. It has a reinforcement plate to give it Grade 1 security. We've been happy with it. I did manage to strip one of the screws, but a call to Schlage and they replaced it free of charge (though I'm still waiting for it to arrive). My tip would be to hand tighten the screws that hold the lock together, as the screws for the double cylinder bolt is designed to strip easily (security feature?)."
